WHAT “PROJECTS” CAN YOU DO?
Literally anything!! Big, small, brief, time-consuming, deep, or not-so-deep. This project is meant to fit into everyone’s individual lifestyle allowing you do things that you have the time, energy, and excitement for.
** Every month you have the ability to push yourself, take a step back, or find somewhere in between- I would encourage you to do things that bring a mix of challenge, excitement, joy, and health (but what you pick is completely up to you!!)**
If you benefit from greater community involvement, you can also choose to do the 2 projects that I am leading every month (chosen by the community before every round)– if that sounds like you CLICK HERE to see what’s currently going on and to see what next round looks like.
MENTAL “PROJECT” IDEAS:
PHYSICAL “PROJECT” IDEAS:
**Don’t worry, I know that the line between mental and physical gets blurry- but use those categories if it’s helpful and if not, just choose 2 that sounds good!!**
MY PHILOSOPHY:
Everywhere you turn, it seems like there’s a new challenge that you have to do on social media (ever heard of Project 50 or 75 Hard?). Many of these challenges have a set of rules that you have to follow and if you miss out on one of those rules, you’ve failed. Focus is placed on progress photos, weight lost, and achieving perfection.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I think, if done correctly, these challenges can be a great way to experiment with different mental and physical habits, jumpstart a new lifestyle or just do something hard!
AND one of the best things I believe you can gain from those challenges is a greater sense of self trust and belief because you actually completed something that you said you would do.
SO- this is where Project Self Trust comes in.
This is a project that has been modeled with 1 goal in mind- to build trust in your own word to instill a belief that your time and energy matter.
Sure, there are bound to be other consequences– you get to experiment with new habits, potentially increase your physical and mental strength and meet a bunch of cool people doing the same. You also get to learn (through practice) that failure never means “the end”. Whether you build trust in yourself by training for a marathon, drinking a glass of water each morning, or getting outside every day- because yes, what you’re doing every day matters (hydration = happiness), but what matters even more is that you’re building integrity with yourself and with that inner voice inside. That integrity, once built, allows you to feel more confident, more at ease, and at peace with yourself.
